Plot
Set in Mississippi during the early 1960s, the story follows Skeeter Phelan (Emma Stone), a young aspiring writer who decides to write a book about the African-American maids who work for white families in the South. Skeeter’s quest for truth and justice is met with resistance from the white community, but she finds support from Aibileen Clark (Viola Davis) and Minny Jackson (Octavia Spencer), two black maids who are willing to share their stories. The Help is a powerful and moving story about race, class, and the bonds of friendship that can overcome even the most difficult of circumstances.

- 原来是根据2009年的同名小说改编的，电影里的1960年的小说并不存在，这是一个虚构的故事。
- 但是这故事并不能说是完全瞎编的， 原著作者和电影导演都有亲身经历，而且都是电影里的 Mississippi 首府 Jackson 人士。
- 这部电影看的时候感到各种被震惊，觉得60年代的美国如同未开化的古代。但转念一想，如果把白人和黑人换成 上海人和安徽人、新加坡人和越南人、美国人和墨西哥人，那么也许有可以说1960年代的美国太先进了。
